German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warns against stopping support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

The German ministerโ€™s statement is cited by Zeit.

According to Pistorius, Ukraine should be able to act from a position of strength and perhaps โ€œhave the opportunity to negotiate at some point.โ€

โ€œIf we stop supporting Ukraine tomorrow, then the day after tomorrow will be the end of Ukraine, the end of a sovereign, free state in the center of Europe,โ€ he said.

The head of the German defense ministry also responded to calls to withdraw support because this is not Germanyโ€™s war.

โ€œIndeed, this is not our war, but it could become ours. Anyone who listens to Russian President Vladimir Putin can only come to one conclusion: โ€˜Putin is preparing,’โ€ Pistorius warned.

He emphasized that the Kremlinโ€™s master โ€œis creating conditions to seriously threaten us,โ€ citing as an example the transition to a military economy, an increase in tank production and the number of soldiers.

Pistorius previously stated that he still sees a possibility that Russia will try to attack NATO countries in 2029-2030.
