Border guards saw drowned people while patrolling a section of the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

Border guards discovered the bodies of two men in Tisa. Most likely, they died while trying to swim across the river. The State Border Service reports this.

“The drowned people were found yesterday evening in Transcarpathia while patrolling the Ukrainian-Romanian border,” the report says.

Rescuers from the State Emergency Service and members of the National Police arrived at the scene of the incident.

“Due to high rapids and strong currents, it was only possible to remove the body from the water in the morning… The identities of the victims are being established,” the State Border Guard Service added.
